Zoom-Zoom-Zoom: Racing for Influence
Ken Silverstein put out another illuminating article on how Weldon's children seem to flourish under the patronage of Weldon's key lobbyists. Harper's Magazine: Another Trip to the Curt Weldon Employment Agency
It turns out that Curt's son, Andrew, decided to become a race car driver. Unlike Speed Racer, Andrew does not have a gifted older brother in the same profession (Racer-X) nor an accomplished mechanic for a father. But, he does have a Daddy in Congress who learned much from his years with Tom Delay.
Outside of NASCAR, it is difficult for someone to make a living driving cars (unless it's a taxi or a limo), much less attract a sponsor.
What are the chances that Andrew not only managed to get a sponsor, but one that lobbies his Daddy? (Based on the careers of two of Andrew's sisters, a guess of 100% would not be outrageous.)
Yep, Curt Weldon's son got Schaffer Motorsports to sponsor him.
Who owns Schaffer Motorsports? Tom Schaffer, a senior employee at Boeing.
What a coincidence! (See my: Weldon's Monkeys with Typewriters for more coincidences.)
Guess who one of the sponsors is of Schaffer Motorsports?
What a coincidence (or a disgrace)! BTW, donations means contributions listed on the books, not employment for friends and relatives.
However, this shouldn't really be a surprise in the Weldon family. Weldon has been a Congressman for nearly 20 years, not because he earned it, but because he was installed by a Republican political machine in Delaware County that is no stranger to corruption and influence peddling. Why should his kids grow up believing in hard work over patronage?
Sestak's daughter is almost five years old. We don't see Schwinn offering to sponsor her tricycle or Hershey giving her a $500,000/year job as a candy consultant. (And I'm sure we never will.)
Let's hope all those voters in the 7th District, who are sick and tired of politics as usual, will start their engines and drive to the polls for the race on Nov 7th, so we can ALL win for a change.

One of the sponsors of Schaffer Motorsports is Boeing Helicopters Credit Union, whose logo appears on the racecar Andrew Weldon drives. Boeing, in turn, is Weldon's top career patron, to the tune of $62,050 in donations.

Joe Sestak was probably the least credible officer I have had the pleasure of serving with. His antics included a YELLOW RUBBER DUCKY that he would have people take pictures with, jumping back on a helicopter to run a search and rescue (not his expertise), keeping officers waiting for upwards of 4 hours to brief him on the basics that he should have learned 15 years ago(at least), and ignoring his door being banged on because he was sleeping during combat operations. Do you want Joe Sestak sleeping on the job in Pennsylvania? I don't!
PS-The blogmasters of this website delete my comments because they do not want you to hear the truth of the fallen Admiral.
Hey, Jet Jock409--Maybe when you start telling the truth about Joe, people will care what you have to say. Right now, especially withe the shotgun approach you have taken to posting your lies to each entry, nobody cares about whether your post gets deleted. Why don't you and the rest of Indy's "monkeys" keep the swiftboating, push-polling somewhere else. Oh, by the way, thanks to you and the rest of Curt's army of robot monkeys and the over-the-top tactics you all pull, Joe Sestak continues to pick up more support, particularly in Delaware County, among the regular working man.
Maybe you should go some of Joe's events, JetJock. You might learn something.
To foolish poster jetjock409: You believe what you want to believe, but don't flood this blog with your stupid remarks. One of your nonsensical rants was left before, but I won't let you copy and paste the same thing to every post. If you have something intelligent to say, say it, otherwise go away.
Jet Jockstrap-
Can you provide dates, times, names of ships, specifics about the briefing topics (and how would you know if you weren't an officer), etc. to back up your ridiculous charges? BTW, can you prove the difference between ignoring his door being banged upon and his being elsewhere on the ship? If you have REAL charges, then file them formally with actual witness statements, and actual facts.
Seems to me you need to use the old oxygen mask a little more often to avoid brain-damage.
For a guy that goes to the train stations at 5:30 am and works late into the night, Sestak is the last Congressman I expect to find asleep on the job.
And while I don't want to feed the troll, let's just set this straight. I don't think the admins of this site are deleting your comments because they're critical of Joe.
But you have posted the SAME comment on a number of different posts. That's comment spamming, and it won't be tolerated here or on pretty much any blog.
jetjock409 is right, I have been hearing rumors of Sestak's poor millitary leadership. Plus the guy has already gone through at least 2 Campaign Spokesmen, and also a slew of Campaign Staff has quit. Bottom line...the guy is a poor leader, in the millitary, in a campaign, so why would we vote this guy into office? Especially with how out of touch he is with the distirct he is running for( he does not live here, pay taxes here etc.). And don't give me the sick daughter bull. Don't get me wrong it's a shame about his daughter, but maybe that is a signal his priorities need to be elsewhere. It would be nice to see the Delco Democratic Party get their act together instead of relying on the National Democratic Party to give them Canidates and everything else they need, and even with all of that help....Weldon will stomp on this guy.
Jetjock back here again...unfortunately you do not have the clearance to know about all of the circumstances but if you did your homework, you would know that he was the Admiral of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group during the 2002 deployment. That is where his antics were and there are about 5000 people who can attest to his inadequacies. PS-I was one of the officers kept waiting.
Oh by the way, there is not need to file charges...the CNO fired him for being a poor leader!
Then I have no idea why you hide behind anonymity. Unless...
Hi there! For a moment I’m creating a blog about race and people for whom race is much more than just a show. Race exists in many countries and in every country this mania has its peculiarities. My goal is to collect as much as possible information about Rice-blog throughout the world. This site is NOT commercial. Mail to Alan (stig.irk@gmail.com) Any information will be very much appreciated. And welcome to my site!
