Even Fox News noticing Sestak's rise and Weldon's vulnerability!
Okay, it's not like Fox News is endorsing Sestak or anything, but when Fox say Sestak is in the game and Weldon is taking notice, you know that something is happening here in PA-7 land!
From the Fox News piece of Aug 7, 2006, the intro has a pretty good writeup on Joe and his qualifications:
WASHINGTON — For Democrats in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District, a candidate like Joe Sestak only comes along once in 20 years.
A Harvard PhD and a retired two-star admiral who commanded an aircraft carrier battle group in Operation Enduring Freedom, Sestak has been raising money furiously, so much money that national party Democrats have taken notice. They are now saying he has a chance at beating incumbent Rep. Curt Weldon, a Republican who has been representing the district since 1986."Curt Weldon … at this point after 20 years in Congress, is out of touch with the needs of the people," said Jen Psaki, spokeswoman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "I think there is no question we see the Philadelphia suburbs as a key battleground."

Here is some more information on this wonderful man Joe Sestak, who seems to know just about everything these days.
-They say, make no mistake about it, Sestak was "fired" from his job because he couldn’t get along with others, subordinates or fellow admirals.
One retired Navy captain who worked closely with Sestak, described him to me as "arrogant," "narcissistic" and "Machiavellian."
"The joke (around the Pentagon) was you could tell where Joe Sestak was working by the people flinging themselves out the window. He was that self-serving and infuriating."-
What is going on here? Who is this guy, really? I have a feeling your going to be hearing a lot more of this kind of stuff from the people who used to work for him. He has already gone through at least 2 Campaign Spokesmen, and many of his Campaign Staff have quit.

Not even Labor Day and the Weldon insects are in full swarm. Welcome to the Curt Weldon mudfest, a/k/a Swift Boat '06.
Interesting, isn't it, that every person quoted in the Gil Spencer Delco Times smear with a character-assassinating quote wanted to hide their name?
And the one guy who was quoted defending Joe was happy to be fully identified...and was a Republican!
If all you've got is that Joe was a demanding boss, you really need to start worrying, Curt. It's 90 days and counting...got your Russian lobbying job lined up yet?
The Delco Times piece was written by Archie-Bunker wannabee Gil Spencer. Spencer's the neo-con go-to guy and hatchet man for Weldon. The other pieces in the Delco Times have all been fairly balanced and discussed the issues (or had a bit of a laugh at some of Weldon's missteps).
None of the issues that Spencer brings up have anything to do with how Sestak would vote on critical legislation. Spencer waits until the very end of his attack on Sestak to interject: "Does any of this mean he couldn’t make an excellent congressman? No."
Gee, Gil, thanks for clearing that up after over a dozen paragraphs trashing the guy over issues that have nothing to do with the central question to voters.
So, the worst thing they can say about Joe is that he's an ambitious, hard-working prick for a boss. Is that supposed to be worse than a Congressman doing political favors for the lobbyists lining the pockets of his friends and family or selling out to the drug and oil industries?
Where the argument about Joe being a bad-boss really fails is that WE, the voters, will be his boss, not the other way around.
The only ones that really need to be concerned about his behavior are his potential Congressional staffers (and there seems to be no shortage of those wanting the jobs).
I think we have one troll who has set up multiple blogger profiles. Panotva posted the same thing, letter-for-letter as cliffwilson4prez on the previous post.
So, to that one fired-up Weldon fan/staffer... let's get this straight. Because we're democrats, big-D and little-d, we're for freedom of expression. We're not intimidated to let you rant. In fact, every time you type, you make our guy look better. I don't know why you're hiding multiple aliases and anonymity.
But we're also not going to tolerate comment spam. You get to make your rant once. Repeats get deleted.
I'm telling you, this Weldon staffer sounds like Councilman Puppio--if it is him, he would once again appear to be posting on County time.
