New PA-7 Watch Blog launched to support Joe Sestak's candidacy!

We launch this team blog today to monitor and comment on the race for US Congress in the PA-7 Congressional District, where Democrat Joe Sestak takes on incumbent Republican Curt Weldon.

The PA-7 Watch blog comes from having an excellent Democratic candidate, Joe Sestak, for US Congress in PA-7, along with a strong dissatisfaction with the Curt Weldon. Our mission is to help spread the word about Sestak’s qualifications while keeping the public informed about the maneuverings of Weldon. Make no mistake, we are proud and vocal Sestak supporters and this is a political blog whose purpose is to help elect Joe Sestak.

We'll keep you posted on Sestak's positions while monitoring the continuing ineptitude of Weldon.

Comments are open and welcome (unless we get spammed!).

Feel free to syndicate our feed, add this blog to your blogroll, and tell others about it!

This blog is not part of the official Sestak campaign.

Weldon Vote Watch: Roll Call! (Week ending June 23)

On June 22nd, Curt Weldon voted the party line to give another tax break to the super-rich by dramatically reducing the estate tax. The tax has completely shielded estates up to $5 million per person. The rate has been reduced dramatically for all other estates. According to the independent rollcallvotes.com, this tax break is going to increase the national debt by $283 billion plus borrowing costs through 2016. This at a time when the real wages are down, and the Republicans have rallied to kill a modest minimum wage increase, Weldon's getting a pay increase and running up the tab to hand out gigantic gifts to the wealthiest handful of Americans.

On June 20th, Weldon opposed an ammendment to HR 5631 that would have required the administration to conduct its electronic surveillance under the existing FISA laws. Another free pass for the Bush administration as it ignores the law.
